Helping The Community

Transitional Housing

The transition home is confidentially located in St. Louis City. Maximum capacity is seven women to provide individual attention as needed. It is open to women from all walks of life and services are offered on a non-sectarian basis. Applicants are accepted both as walk-in and agency referred. The home conducts its' own screening process independent of any prevailing referral systems.  Changing Lives Mission Home is more than a program but is a life giving movement and a force involving the entire city.

Amenities include fully furnished dormitory style living quarters, community kitchen with individual storage spaces, study-library area with computer and internet access, free washer and dryer on site, large living/dining area for meetings, communal meals, group sessions, and supervised visitors, equipped with big screen cable ready TV. There is a fenced in backyard with donated grill and patio, security lights in place. The home is accessible to major bus routes and grocery stores. It is in walking distance to local churches and a major health clinic in the area.

Applicants seeking housing must be single, divorced, separated or widowed women and 18 years or older. A physical exam is required within two weeks of acceptance into the home.  TB and Hepatitis testing are mandatory requirements as part of this physical exam.

A Missouri State Certified Peer Specialist will be added to the management staff this year to help provide 24-hour supervision on site. This new feature is very important to our housing program, as a state certified peer specialist is someone who has experienced the same barriers and trauma as resident applicants and has overcome such adversities to become a leader, role model and guide for women seeking healing and change in their lives.

We currently have a staff of two medical doctors as advisers who they are also the spiritual counselors.  In addition, we have others volunteering their services working in different areas.

Application for residency may be obtained by emailing Mary Neumann at mary@changing-lives-today.org for contacting her at 314-406-6656.
